Columbia is in Howard County, a county of contrasts, a successful melding of old and new, urban and rural, where the rolling green hills of the Piedmont meet the rocky fall line of the glaciers. It is home to over 168,000 people, a setting where one of the most modern cities in the world sits side by side with a city older than the republic itself.

We are also surrounded by several historic towns such as Savage, Ellicott City, Elkridge, Lisbon, Annapolis, Frederick, to name a few.

As you can see from the map, Columbia is 20 minutes from Baltimore and about 40 from Washington. Annapolis, Maryland's Capital, is also about 40 minutes away. And if you keep going East, you will reach the Atlantic coast in about 2 hours, home to Ocean City, a vacation resort and Assateague Island, a national Seashore and home of the wild ponies.

Getting to Columbia by air is easy since we are only 20 minutes from the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport. Two other major airports are also in the vicinity - Washington's Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Washington Dulles International (IAD) are 40 and 50 miles away respectively. For the location of all three airports, view this map.
